The School Day

School Times

The children attend school for 190 days an academic year, 32.5hours each week.  The school day is divided into two sessions making 380 sessions in all.    The times for the two sessions are:

  Morning Session Afternoon Session
Nursery 8:45-11:45 12:30-3:30
Reception - Year 2 8:40-11:45 12:45-3:15
Years 3 - 6 8:40-12:15 1:15-3:15

LUNCH TIME

No cans or glass bottles are allowed and we also request that parents avoid giving children crisps or chocolate biscuits in line with our Healthy School Policy.

Also, nuts (including in biscuits etc) are not permitted in school as some of our children suffer from anaphylaxis, which is a serious allergy to nuts. The school kitchen also ensures that no nuts are ever included in any food items.

Dinners cost £2.30 per day for Years 3 and above.  Children in Year 2 and below qualify for Universal Free School Meals and do not need to pay.

Attendance

Coming to school is really important because this is the place where we build upon the skills that we will need to succeed as an adult. Research shows that time away from school impacts on children’s learning and so we discourage absence from school. Therefore, we will only authorise an absence in an exceptional circumstance. We hope that all our parents will support us in this aim and we are proud of our good attendance rates.
